Day 36, Paparazzi Night

Scenic cruising continues for our second sea day which began with a beautiful sunrise over the Chilean mountains.

Alan Chamo was the guest at Coffee Chat this morning.  He started performing as a magician at a young age.  He served in the Israeli Defense Force for 3 years before moving to Miami, Florida, where he currently resides.

The weather continues to be fantastic.  Early this afternoon, a small whale was spotted as it’s tail broke the surface on our port side, but I was unable to get a photo.

Later in the afternoon we received a certificate that covered a lot of bases:  Exploring Antarctica, Rounding Cape Horn and Scenic Cruising of the Chilean Fjords.

Tonight was a Gala Night with a Paparazzi theme in preparation for the Oscar show tomorrow.  Judy and I found some fun costumes with giant inflatable cameras to help celebrate the evening.

On the Main Stage this evening, the featured performer was Kenny Martyn, who specializes in the Benny Goodman Big Band sound with his clarinet.  He also wowed the crowd with his saxophone and ukulele banjo.  HAL Orchestra members: Michael, Emilio, Grahame and Conor were all featured in extended solo performances.

After the show we stopped by the Crow’s Nest where the bartender had fun with our Paparazzi camera.
