We sleep in and visit a local yarn shop – 2 Jan 2024
LATE SLEEPERS
We didn’t do much today – we slept in until noon. Then we headed to Judy’s favorite Fort Lauderdale Yarn Shop – Sheep Thrills. Judy picked up some silk and linen blend yarn from Anzula Yarns in the “Florida Room, No Merino Allowed.” She had to explain to me that sweaters worn in Florida need to be knit in linen, cotton or bamboo to keep the wearer cool. And, as usual, she bought the same color yarn, which matched the color of the sweater that she was wearing.

Chick-fil-A was our dinner tonight.
I spent the rest of the evening downloading maps for my new MAP App – Pocket Earth Pro, which I will be using instead of Maps.me, which started charging a $60 annual subscription fee.
We will head to Terminal 26 around 10 AM to drop off bags, then return the rental car and return to the Terminal to check in around 11 AM.

Judy took this photo as we landed in FLL New Year’s day – You can see Terminals 26 and 19 – both empty. They will be busy tomorrow.

I was going to check out Pocket Earth Pro only to find it’s only available for iPhones, not Android based phones. I hate when that happens.
I really appreciate you and others who take the time to journal their adventures for us to read. Thanks!
Thanks for the info. I will see if I can find an Android alternative. I know you can download google maps for offline use now. I haven’t tried that yet.
Pete, Glad to learn you switched to Pocket Earth Pro. We’ve been using it for years.
We’re about to touch down in Atlanta to change planes on our way south.
We learned about Pocket Earth pro from you guys on the 2022 Iceland cruise – Great recommendation!
Enjoy your cruise around the world (again)! I am looking forward to joining you, if only from my armchair.
Bon Voyage.
Thanks for following!
Looking forward to your detailed reports as you head out on this adventure around the world.

I wear Merino t-shirts almost exclusively, short sleeved in summer and long in winter. I live in nasty-steamy Central Florida.
Love my merino wool tops!
Judy agrees those tops are great! Her comment referred to handknitted yarns
I have left money at Sheep Thrills before LOL
Thanks so much–we hadn’t realised Maps me were charging now–thanks for the info!Looking forward to yr cruise !!
