2020 Grand World Voyage will end in Fremantle (Perth)
At noon today, 13 March 2020, Captain Mercer confirmed that our wonderful World Cruise will be ending in Fremantle on 24 March 2020, 10 days from now.
After the announcement, Henk held an informal town hall by Guest Services. He explained that HAL is looking at various options to get us back to Fort Lauderdale. He didn’t have anything firm, but we all speculated that HAL may charter aircraft to fly us back.
A few guests suggested that we put the ship into a no frills mode and sail directly back to Florida. This would take about 18 days and we should be allowed entry to the US if no one onboard presents with symptoms. While this is intriguing, most people consider this one unlikely. The last thing HAL wants now is another Grand Princess scenario off the Florida Coast.
Some guests are medically prohibited from flying and they will present a special challenge for HAL.
More to come as things develop, but we have 10 days left in this wonderful cruise.

I wondered what wasting to be the outcome for you on the world cruise. I will miss your posts, but in this environment not much any cruise line can do.
Thank you for bringing me along with you both..
Thanks for following. Our adventure continues for now!
Sorry to hear your news.
We are dealing with our own cancellation. We arrived in Ft Lauderdale last night and as we were checking into our hotel we advised that our 48 day South America to Vancouver was cancelled.
Sorry to hear that. Things are crazy. Hope everything settles down soon
So sorry to hear this–keep us up to date on what happens next–we so enjoy your posts and look forward to the next ones form your next creuise.

Thanks for following!
I have been enjoying your adventures. I’m so sorry your cruise is ending this way. I hope to do a world cruise someday.
Thanks – I hope you will be able to do a world cruise – they are a lot of fun!
Sorry to hear that this adventure will be shortened! If the ship could get back to Fort Lauderdale without stopping anywhere for 14 days, which is unlikely, because you would probably need to refuel, that would make sense and no quarantine off of Florida would be needed, because you would have already self-isolated for the required two weeks.
I just saw on HAL twitter that we will be going to Fremantle to offload the 22 and 23 March.
Nothing announced here yet. Still early
