About The Inside Cabin

“The Inside Cabin” is Peter Laszcz who hails from Imperial Beach, California.   Pete is originally from Ohio but after graduating from The Ohio State University he joined the U.S. Navy and spent 30 years sailing the 7 seas, accumulating over 2,000 days at sea – all from an “Inside Cabin.”  Today Pete sails primarily from verandah cabins.

Pete was an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and spent all his sea time aboard aircraft carriers.   His longest number of consecutive sea days was 93, during the first Gulf War. His US Navy cruises averaged 200 days with many, many shorter “cruises.”

Late in his Navy career, Pete and his wife, Judy, discovered civilian cruising – and they loved it from their very first Alaska cruise in 1998.

Pete and Judy also spent 2 years living in Japan and became quite familiar with Asia and the Orient. They both enjoy travel and are especially fond of specialty cruises – particularly knitting cruises organized by Melissa at Craft Cruises.

They have completed their longest civilian cruises to date aboard the Ms Amsterdam in 2016, 2018 and the 2020 1/2 world cruise.   You can find their daily reports on this blog.  They sailed to Antarctica in 2018 on the Seabourn Quest and Judy and Pete have now been to all 7 continents.

Join them once again on the 2023 and 2024 Grand World Voyages!
